The Agricultural and Rural Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our learners.
Understanding Safeguarding
The 5Rs of Safeguarding: Familiarize yourself with the 4Rs framework, which includes:
Recognize possible abuse and understand what to look out for.
Respond quickly and appropriately to any concerns.
Record your observations and actions taken regarding any concerns.
Report your concerns to the appropriate authorities or organizations.
Read our "Safeguarding plan for parents" to help with the above.
Anti-Bullying at The Agricultural and Rural Centre CIC
The ARC is determined to ensure our pupils are safe while at the centre and for this reason we are members of the anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/ to ensure a pro-active and thorough response to bullying. The definition of bullying that we adhere to is:
Bullying is behaviour by an individual or group, repeated over time, that intentionally hurts another individual or group either physically or emotionally. It might be motivated by actual differences between children, or perceived differences.
For more details, see our Anti-bullying policy here
Attendance
The Agricultural and Rural Centre recognise that attendance in school is crucial for our pupils. Not just due to attainment and targets but because young people need interaction with their peers to truly be fulfilled and to develop their social skills.
Our Welfare and attendance team are committed to supporting parents in ensuring that our pupils attendance meets the national target of 95%.
